Some people embrace change, while others live in fear of it. Change is inevitable. Bright, sunny days turn to stormy, dark nights. The sweltering humidity of summer eventually becomes a crisp, cool autumn. Elderly wrinkles replace teenage acne. Hair that was once raven may is now sterling silver. Every day we live is another one that we age. No amount of makeup or medical intervention can halt this process. But change does not mean growth.
Growth takes effort. It is something we have to work at. We don’t just wake up one morning to bodies that are toned and fit. Building muscle requires weeks of exercise and a healthy diet. There is no quick fix. There is no magic pill. And unless we seek out new learning experiences, we won’t grow mentally or spiritually either. Read a book. Listen to a podcast. Play a sport you’ve never played before. Take a road trip. Visit a museum. Try something new in the bedroom (with or without a partner).
As long as you are alive you will change. The question is… Will you grow?
