On this week’s podcast episode, titled “You are Already Approved” I talk about a roadblock I encountered while publishing my first two books. Based on the research I had done and feedback from people I had spoken to, I knew that a large, online distributor would be one of the best ways to independently publish my books. Using this platform would also allow customers to purchase print-to-order copies directly from the distributor, eliminating the need for me to store the books myself until they were sent to their forever homes. But there was a catch.

I had to wait for the distributor to review and approve my books. Ordinarily this process takes up to 72 hours, which I thought to be reasonable. Like any parent anticipating the arrival of their newborn, as soon an I hit “Publish,” I couldn’t wait for my books to be live. I was constantly checking my email and the website for updates. Alas, the 72-hour mark came and went, and still there was no change in the status of my books. You see, it wasn’t the wait in and of itself that had me on edge. It was the fact that the time-frame I was given had long gone and I had not heard anything from the company. To make matters worse, there was no customer service department to contact about my issue and I couldn’t edit, unpublish, or do anything else with the books while they were listed as in review.

After nearly a week, I knew I had to find an alternative. While this distributor had worked for many other people it was not working for me. The desire and ability to create and publish these books were divinely ordered. I knew I had not been brought this far for things to not work out. There was another solution. I just had to be willing to find it.

The first place I look for solutions is myself. I like to rely on my aptitude to figure things out regardless of how difficult they are. I can also count on my creativity to help me in my search.

Although I am confident in myself, I trust the messages and advice of my ancestors, guides, and intuition. They provide feedback that benefits me. When I am at a crossroads with a life decision, I call my guides to get direction. Doing this always opens my mind up to new options.

Today, I acknowledge the value that my spiritual team brings to my professional and personal life. My capacity to achieve greatly is partially due to the input and support from them. I trust the truth that they speak because I know that they are in my corner.
